Introductions: Matt

Laura and Matt, Oct 2010

I am…

a sinner saved by grace

I was born and raised in the Midwest. While I believed that I was not worthy of God’s forgiveness from a young age, I don’t remember hearing the gospel clearly until I attended a Christian youth camp after my sophomore year of high school (1997). During the first night’s message, I heard that God’s forgiveness was available to those who believe on Jesus Christ. I was impressed with the need to call upon God for salvation. I did so that night; life has never been the same since!

married to an amazing woman

Laura and I met in college and were married after my first year of seminary in 2006. Fortunate for me, she agreed to come home from an amazing ministry overseas so that she could marry me.

grateful for training and ministry experience

I graduated from Maranatha Baptist Bible College in 2005 with a degree in Biblical Studies and Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary in 2009 with a Master of Divinity degree. A Master of Theology degree is currently in progress. Since my conversion I’ve also had the privilege of serving the Lord in some excellent churches and college ministries. God has provided the opportunity for me to visit mission fields and church plants as he has increased my desire to serve him vocationally. We posted more information regarding our decision to go to Tanzania on this website here.
