Oct—Nov 2013 Ministry Update

We recorded a short video as our monthly update for October. Watch it here if you can or follow the link to see it at Vimeo.com.

Here are a few ways you can be praying with us:
  1. While our coworkers, the Eads, are in Nairobi for the birth of their fourth (who arrived in good health!), we have the privilege and challenge of standing in for them in some areas. This has provided the opportunity for me to lead a few evangelism training meetings and forced us to make a few decisions without falling back on their Swahili and experience. God has used this to encourage us regarding our progress and push us a few steps forward.
  2. We are regularly confronted with the realization that we are adjusting to life in Africa at the same time we are adjusting to being parents. We often lament that there is no instruction manual for navigating either of these challenges! Please pray that we will continue learning what it means to be faithful parents in this context.
  3. At a year into the adjustment process we are still acutely aware of gaps in our language and culture learning. At the same time it is growing more difficult still having to ask people to repeat themselves, repeatedly drilling new vocabulary, etc. We pray that we will continue seeing this part of our life as a ministry in itself—an expression of love for our new Tanzanian friends and neighbors.
